Woman among two injured in cross border shelling in Tangdhar sector, Fear grips entire area | KNO

Kupwara, July 30 (KNO) : Two civilians including a woman suffered injuries after Pakistan and Indian army exchanged heavy mortar shells across the border on Loc in Tanghdar sector of Kupwara district. An official told KNO that the Pakistani army resorted cease fire violation and targeted the forward Jabdi posts of Indian Army. “However the Indian army retaliated heavily triggering of exchange of heavy motor shells,” the official told KNO. In wake of this fear has gripped the residents of Tanghdar and other adjoining areas and whole civilian population are now moving towards safer places.  “Pakistani troopers targeted the forward Jabdi posts of Indian army during which they also targeted the civilian population injuring two including an middle aged women,” the army official alleged. The official identified both the injured as, Ikhlaq Ahamd and a lay Reshma Jan both the residents of Tangdhar along actual line of control.  “People are being moved to suffer places amid the ongoing heavy motor shelling,” he told KNO. He also said that no soldier from India army was injured in the exchange of gunfire. The intermittent cross-border shelling was going on when the report was being filed.
